Te Pūkotahitanga - the Tangata Whenua Ministerial Advisory Group was appointed in June 2022 to provide independent advice on the implementation of Te Aorerekura – the National Strategy to Eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence.(external link)
Te Pūkotahitanga contributes to Action 8: Establish a Tangata Whenua Ministerial Advisory Group of Te Aorerekura. This action is part of Shift 2(external link): towards mobilising communities.
Te Pūkotahitanga has a significant role in creating family violence and sexual violence systems and supports that are governed and led by, and for, tangata whenua in the best interests of their whānau, hapū, iwi and all communities.
