Thank you for your interest in our Agents of Change Survey.

Background: Te Puna Aonui and ACC have collaborated to develop a short survey of Aotearoa New Zealand’s family violence (FV) and sexual violence (SV) workforces and primary prevention system. This survey will be open during May 2024.

Purpose: The aim is to gather information related to the moemoeā (vision) of Te Aorerekura — The National Strategy aimed at eliminating family and sexual violence in Aotearoa. The survey will give us a better understanding of who is working within the sector and how we can collectively strengthen the workforce in the future.

Who Should Participate – Agents of Change: All individuals engaged in preventing, responding to, and healing from FV and SV. This includes people who may not explicitly view their roles in this way, but they contribute to community wellbeing and equity, or come into contact with people experiencing violence.

Survey Content: The survey asks about factors influencing respondents’ mahi, their training and capabilities, and perceptions and understanding of the system. It also contains demographic questions to help us understand diversity within these groups.

The survey should take 15 to 25 minutes to complete.  Please do this in one sitting as you won’t be able to return to the survey once you’ve closed out of it.

Why should I participate? This is an opportunity for you to be counted, share your views on the system, and use your voice to shape decision-making in the future. Through hearing about your thoughts and experiences, we can measure our progress towards and stay accountable to the moemoeā (vision) of Te Aorerekura.

But I have already responded to a similar survey, do I need to do this survey too? Similar surveys have been done by other Government agencies and community groups, but they haven’t asked the same questions of the sector this widely. You may be asked questions that you have answered previously, this is because we need to know who is responding to our survey so we can make sense of your answers. The purpose of The Agents of Change survey is different from other surveys, for example, Te Pūkotahitanga and Te Rau Ora have recently done a survey with a specific focus on Kaimahi Māori workforce development.

Voluntary and Anonymous: Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and anonymous. You are not obligated to answer any questions if you choose not to. Rest assured that your responses will remain confidential, and no attribution will be made to individual participants.

The survey responses will be securely stored by ACC and Te Puna Aonui.

For any further questions around the eligibility of participants, the authenticity of the survey, or any concerns you have, please email relationships@tepunaaonui.govt.nz (subject line: Agents of Change Survey)
