Annual hui 2022

On 26-27 July 2022, Te Puna Aonui Ministers and officials hosted the first annual Hui for Te Aorerekura alongside key community and sector stakeholders. On each day of the Hui there were more than 500 people attending from government, tangata whenua, communities and specialist sectors across Aotearoa.

The purpose of this hui was to reflect together on progress towards the shifts of Te Aorerekura and share information with each other about what we’re learning. This hui is part of the Action Plan for Te Aorerekura, under Action 9 of Shift 2: towards mobilising communities – meaning it’s part of our commitment to implement Te Aorerekura.

The Hui themes were:

  • Addressing inequities
  • Tangata whenua leadership
  • Activating the power of communities
  • Working together and strengthening relationships
  • Working towards a shared pathway
