Te Pūkotahitanga - the Tangata Whenua Ministerial Advisory Group was appointed in June 2022 to provide independent advice on the implementation of Te Aorerekura – the National Strategy to Eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence.(external link)
Te Pūkotahitanga has a significant role in creating family violence and sexual violence systems and supports that are governed and led by, and for, tangata whenua in the best interests of their whānau, hapū, iwi and all communities.
Te Pūkotahitanga contributes to Action 8: Establish a Tangata Whenua Ministerial Advisory Group of Te Aorerekura. This action is part of Shift 2(external link): towards mobilising communities.

It builds on the previously unpublished resource developed for Interim Te Rōpū.
Litany of Sound Webinar - 22 May 2024Violence within Whānau and Mahi Tūkino — A Litany of Sound Revisited(external link) is an in-depth literature review that brings together contemporary mātauranga from Māori researchers in one book. This webinar is a wayfinder, to continue the kōrero from this report with speakers who will reflect on research and real-life expertise. The speakers include the author of the book, Denise Wilson, along with Poata Watene, Ngarongo Eaton and Te Whetu Mairangi (Whetu Horo) Balzer-Horo. |
Kaimahi Māori National FVSV Workforce SurveyWhat drives an empowering workforce strategy & how do we execute it effectively? Te Pūkotahitanga(external link) that is tasked with the responsibility to independently advise the Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence and Sexual Violence, Hon. Karen Chhour(external link) is calling on your whakaaro. The ministerially appointed tangata whenua rōpū has commissioned a nationwide survey specifically focused on the Kaimahi Māori workforce. The mahi is being conducted by Te Rau Ora(external link). Areas being canvassed include: Kaimahi experience and qualifications, aspects of practice, use of wānanga, and or Māori modalities, whakaaro on working with whānau Māori, mātauranga (learning) and manaaki (support), experience with supervision, job quality, remuneration, recruitment, and retention.
