Te Aorerekura is the 25-year National Strategy that sets the framework for collective to address family violence and sexual violence. The Strategy is delivered through Action Plans that guide the government’s work, with tangata whenua, specialists and communities. 

Addressing family violence and sexual violence will significantly improve the wellbeing of all people in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The second Te Aorerekura Action Plan is focused on doing more of what works to break the cycle of violence.

Along with the Action Plan, Te Puna Aonui has published a report on the current state of multi-agency responses. That report(external link) identifies the key areas for improvement, to strengthen responses and improve the safety of people at risk of serious injury or death.
